Time flies...when you're running around like a crazy person!

So I haven't blogged in FOREVER. But the days, weeks...let's face it, months....just seem to be flying by. And as a Speech Pathologist that works for a school district, I used to dream of the days and weeks flying by to get me to any and all breaks from school. But now I find myself having mixed emotions about this loss of time. I look forward to the breaks to spend extra time with my kiddos and family, but I hate to wish away 187 days (that's the school year in days) just to get to summer. Because let's be honest, summer passes all to quickly. I love the quote "life is what happends while you're busy making plans." I have no idea who said it, but it is all too true in my case. So I'm doing my best to enjoy the day to day things, in addition to looking forward to time off work with my babies!

Now that it's almost October we are finally settling into our new "normal" school year routine. Jackson is doing great at school and getting more and more comfortable with his new teachers and friends. The class he's in this year takes a field trip every other week to any and all places around town, i.e. parks, libraries...and most recently TU to play basketball (the Dad of one of his fellow classmates plays BB for TU). At first Jackson was very nervous about going on the bus for these field trips but after 2 field trips he's decided that he likes the bus ride! Thank goodness!
Campbell is great! She is such a laid back baby..AMEN! She is trying to sit up on her own, babbling a lot, and has recently started cereal. She's such a joy to have around our house and completes our family perfectly.

We are looking forward to October getting here, and bringing with it our first family trip to Branson, Halloween, and beautiful outside weather! I just LOVE the fall....the smells, the clothes, the food, the temperatures...ahhhh! What do you love about the fall?

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying some cooler weather in your neck of the woods!

Mourning our first day

So we all survived our first day back to work and school for the kids since having Campbell.....but it wasn't pretty! I spent the majority of my evening mourning the loss of how I pictured our first day going. Which I know sounds crazy but I'm a planner people! But I apparently set my expectations too high and feel miserably short! The day started off with Jackson having a meltdown and not wanting to stay in his new classroom. And by a meltdown, I mean the teacher had to pull him off my leg. While he was falling apart I had to hold myself together and take Campbell to her classroom and get her signed in and preped for the day. As bad as I felt for Jackson I also know that he was FINE or atleast would be fine in 10 minutes. Campbell had an okay day, but she wouldn't take her bottle or nap. This was all before 8:45am! Shesh!! I had meetings all morning, went back to Riverfield to feed Campbell, and then back to work. And as I was walking out the door to go pick up the kids I was told that I would be losing my office space and they were sure where I was going to move too! Oh.....goody!!!! So there it was, the perfect end to the not so perfect day.

The good news and the bad news is that we got to try it all over again today. Which I will say went a little bit better, but not great. Of course my expectations were far more reasonable. Gosh I hope Campbell gets into the swing of things and starts eating and napping. This poor baby went from sleeping 6 hours a day, during the day, to 30 minutes...uh yikes!

Here is for hoping this overwhelming feeling settles down a bit....soon!

coming to an end

I know it's been forever since I blogged, but I have valid reasons! It's been NUTS around here. Between trying to get Campbell on a schedule, playing with Jackson, having my floors re-done after our "flood", getting a new garage door after it broke, and preparing for the school year to start....*whew* crazy!
So first things first...Campbell is the best baby. She's just chill all the time. If she cries it's for one of three reasons, hungry, sleepy, shewy diaper. She's sleeping 10+ hours a night, eating every 3 hours, trying to sit up and rollover, and "talking" all the time! She loves to blow raspberries and growl!

Jackson is his adorable 3 year old self...which is enough said most days! He loves his sister to pieces and is a great big brother. His latest infatuation is construction trucks, cranes, etc. His Poppy bought him a remote control crane that is taller then he is....he LOVES IT!

In home news....we had a drain back up and flood our dining and living room, thus ruining our laminate floors that we installed only 2 years ago. So after cleaning up this horrible mess we find out that the laminate has been discontinued. So we got to replace 366 square feet of flooring. So we got smart this time, we put down tile, but it looks like wood floors. We love it! Pictures to follow once we get the room put back together. And the week after the floor problems my garage door broke...just great! Oh the joys of home ownership!
So next on the to do list is starting up the school year. My anxiety level is on level red. It's the unknown that gets me. Will Campbell take a bottle? Will I be able to get to her school to nurse her at lunch? Will Jackson transition to his new room well? Will Campbell get on a schedule and be able to sleep well at school? What new schools will I have on my schedule this year? Will we be able to afford having 2 kids in childcare? And I could go on and on and on and on......So for now, we just get started and hope for the best!

The Baby Blues

Ok gang....I'm having a somewhat hard time admitting that I may have the baby blues of some form. When my mom suggested to me that I may be suffering from the "baby blues" I thought "neh"....what do I have to be blue about? I have 2 wonderful and healthy children, a great husband and family to help me out, a roof over my head and a job that I enjoy most often then not and pays the bills. But when my first reaction to any situation is to cry....that means something is off to me. Again, I'm not face down, nor do I feel like I am a danger to myself or my children...as I know women diagnosed with Post-Partum Depression. I know this is a very real thing...but I think I'm just kind of...down. It just seems like my hormones are going wild a bit late after having Campbell in comparison to Jackson. After having Jackson I was teary and "off" feeling from the day after I had him and the subsequent couple of weeks. But by 1 month remember feeling like it was all settling down. With Campbell it seems like it didn't start till just a week or so ago....she's 11 weeks old people! I never knew pregnancies, pre and post, could be so different!
Anyhow, I hope all of my mommy friends and not-yet mommy friends are having a great summer!

Memorial Weekend in Houston

Well I know it's been forever since I've blogged...but needless to say it's been a little busy around my house. Campbell is doing well! She is 9 weeks old now, which I'm not sure how that happened so fast. She just got her 8 week shots this week and it was tough on all of us. Overall she is the BEST baby! She sleeps 6-7 hour stretches at night, she's beginning to coo and smile and laugh. She is just an absolute joy to have. Jackson is doing great. He sure loves his baby sister. We haven't had any jealousy issues as of yet...he loves to shower her with hugs and kisses, sometimgs a little too much. Jackson is going to Riverfield 2 days per week this summer to give Campbell and I some time together and him a chance to get the wiggles out.
Last weekend we went to Houston for Jeremy's sister's wedding. It was our first long car ride with both kids and they did remarkably well. But I will tell you traveling with children is a test of organizational skills, spousal communication, and patience. I think Jeremy and I shared more cross words then we did with the kids....LOL. Oh well, we will learn. I know we have many family road trips ahead of us! Anyhow, the wedding was wonderful. It was great to see our family and friends and be a part of Kelsea's wedding.
So that's what we've been up to. Now we are back in town trying to get back in the groove of things. Jeremy and I are celebrating our 6 yr anniversary today...unfortunately our celebration will have to be postponed a bit due to me having developed mastitis over the last day..booo. Oh well, it's nice to spend the weekend resting and laying low. I need to rest and Campbell needs time to rest from her shots...
Below are some wedding pics!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

and Campbell makes 4

So it's been wild around here the last few weeks. I'm attempting to get back in the baby groove, i.e. lack of sleep, arranging my schedule on a 2-3 hour time frame, juggling my mommy role with my wifely role, etc. Campbell is doing great. She fits right in and has been going with the flow fairly well. She's nursing like a champ, as evidenced by being almost a pound over her birth weight by the time she was 2 weeks old. She sleeps 4 hours at a time at night, which keeps me human! Jackson loves his sister. He has a fairly short attention span, even for her. So he'll give her hugs and kisses and then he's off to play! We haven't had any issues with him not wanting to share me or my time with Campbell, and he's continuing on with staying potty trained with minimal accidents. We've had a few incidents of him acting out, as we are all adjusting to having a baby in the house. One of which included him getting out of his bed during naptime, which he's never done before, and destroying his room. He emptied his book basket (around 50 books), he took everything off of his toy shelves, he rolled up a 5X8 foot rug and drug it across the room, he got in his closet and put Benedryl and hydrocortisone cream ALL over his face and arms....and got caught redhanded by me...standing on his laundry hamper playing with his CD player on his dresser! And he did this in a matter of 30 minutes while I foolishly took a catnap...that'll teach me!
Here are a few picks from the last few weeks....enjoy!

Introducing Campbell Rose

We are happy to announce that our little girl, Campbell Rose, has safely arrived! She was born March 31st at 7:29am, weighing in at 7lbs 4oz and 20 inches long. Her delivery went pretty smoothly....no major surprises (which is they way I like things!) Jackson loves her and always wants to hold her and give her kisses...of course we haven't gone home yet, so we'll see if his adoration continues!
Below are a few pics for your viewing please!
Happy Easter to everyone!!!

Twas the night before......

Twas the night before Campbell arrived...and I wish I was creative enough to really make some kind of cute poem out of this but I'm not! So, on this, the night before the birth of baby #2 my brain is going a million miles an hour. Jackson stayed the night at my parents house so he doesn't have to be at the hospital as early as we do...5:30 is too early for even him (my early riser!). So I took advantage and took one last nice long hot shower at home before I'll be gone for 4 days. Of course I do my best thinking/praying/dreaming/planning in the shower...so all of my worry, excitment, anxiety, hopes, blessings came to light. Some rational, some not so much...but here are a few of them in hopes that jotting them down will help me get some sleep tonight!
1. Worries: the usual new baby stuff and delivery stuff. Will she be healthy, will surgery go well? Will Jackson be accepting of his new little sister?
2. Excitment: I can't wait to see what she looks like...does she look like Jackson when he was born, does she have Jeremy's features or mine, how big will she be?
3. Anxiety: some of you know the issues we had when Jackson was born...he was born with undescended testicles (nothing harmful to his overall health) but unexpected! so he had ultrasounds, blood work, extra Dr.'s visits, etc. So I'm just hoping if we have suprises with Campbell they are of the non-scary kind!
4. Hopes: I hope she's a good baby (eater, sleeper, etc). I hope we settle into a routine at home quickly for everyone's sake. I hope Jackson doesn't regress on his potty training accomplishments either!
5. Blessings: I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family! My husband takes wonderful care of Jackson and I. My parents are always around to help...and I don't know what I would do without them. And I have great friends to use as sounding boards for my motherhood slip-ups!

So all in all, I feel very positive about tomorrow...but still nervous of the unknown! I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! And I will post pics as soon as I can! Goodnight!

Drumroll please......

So we FINALLY finished our master shower. After 5-6 months of working on this project we're done....and we love it! Obviously we notice every little imperfection, but that's because we did all the work ourselves. We originally got an estimate for 6K to have someone else redo the shower, but that didn't include the tile or shower door or shower fixtures. That also didn't include all of the wood rot replacement, etc, etc. So that 6K would have turned into 7 or 8 I'm sure. We did it for half of the orignial quote....not bad! And neither of us filed for divorce over it! =)

Has anyone else planned or completed a home project recently????

The Next Chapter

If I were writing a novel I would be quickly wrapping up chapter 29 and patiently waiting on inspiration to begin chapter 30. The last several weeks have been crazy around our house...Let me recap:
* Jackson turned 3. We had a great birthday party with lots of friends and family, including a visit from his Mimi and Papa from Houston.
* I celebrated my 30th birthday *gasp*! It really wasn't bad at all. I think something about being 9 months pregnant and having a ton of things to get prepared before another baby comes, kept me from dwelling on the big 3-0. I'm actually kind of looking forward to my 30's, I think there are a lot of good things to come!
* We're still working on the shower. This whole process has been slowed drastically by a viral infection I had for 2 weeks in which I wasn't able/motivated to motivate my husband to work on the shower without me. And in his defense, he was too busy taking care of a very sick pregnant wife and being mommy/daddy for Jackson (a full-time job in and of itself). So, the goal is to finish it before the baby gets here....so we have around 3 weeks.

So another big change that will happen in our lives over the next several months, in addition to a new baby, is that I will no longer be coaching figure skating. For those of you I have known since my college days, you may recall that I started coaching during college to pay the bills. But I ended up continuing to coach even post college and since moving back from Houston, I have been coaching for 5+ years now. I've never done it as a full-time job, but have spent somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 hours a week coaching. When you add that to working as a speech pathologist, and having 1 baby...and now approaching have 2 babies...something was going to have to give. So over the last weekend I informed my skating kiddos that I would not be returning to coach after the baby was born. Everyone has taken it very well so far, but I will say that it was a very diffcult decision to make. These kiddos and their families have become like family to me and i will dearly miss them. But I've decided that I can't be 100% wife/mom and 100% coach....and I chose to do the best I can as a wife and mother. I will continue to work as a speech pathologst for the school district, but that schedule is very streamlined in comparison to coaching....and that's what my family and I need right now...a consistant schedule.
So there is a lot of change on the horizon for the Josserand family....I'm just ready to get started!
I hope everyone was able to get outside and enjoy the amazing weather this weekend!
Have a great rest of the week!

Holy Cow I have a 3 yr old in my house!

Last Friday we celebrated Jackson's 3rd birthday...my my how the time has flown by! I had all of your typical mommy flashbacks to the day he was born. I would look at the clock throughout the day and think "this time 3 years ago we were.....". It is truly amazing to think of how far we've come, in the parenting world, and his overall development.
The first order of business on his birthday was to hold a small birthday celebration at his school. My mom, the ever talented one, made all of the kids and his teachers aprons with their names on them for them to wear as they decorated cookies. Needless to say, the cookie decorating, and more importantly, the cooking eating was a huge success!

Also over the weekend we had a family birthday party for him....Mickey Mouse style! While the weather wasn't all that cooperative, everyone appeared to have a good time.

I hope everyone had a great weekend...and survives the rest of the week. If I can kick this sinus infection I have I might live to see next weekend! =)

My to-do list....

So I've been meaning to blog for over 2 weeks now....but I made up my mind that I was determined to get my To-Do list under control. I keep adding things to it and not crossing anything off. Does anyone else feel like their list grows faster then it shrinks?!?! That's mine lately!
An abbreviated version of my list:
Finish shower reno...we're ready to tile, but there are still 10 things to do after that!
Finish baby's room
Finish Just Between Friends Sale prepping
Drop-off at Goodwill
Deep clean my house

So none of these things are quick little projects....good gaw...my goal is to just have them done by the beginning of March. I would really like to have a few project free weekends before the baby gets here!
On a fun note, I did get to attend Jackson's school Valentine's day party on Friday. Pictures to follow soon! And next Friday Jackson will be 3!!!

Dear Weather...please cooperate!

Dear Weather,
I can appreciate a good snow/ice day like the next gal! Staying in my PJ's all day with Jackson, cleaning out closets, having hot chocolate, etc. But we are supposed to get tubes in Jackson's ears tomorrow AM at 7:30!!! Not that we couldn't reschedule it, but I'd prefer not too. We both have the day off of school, I've already cancelled coaching, and made Jello. I'm a planner and I'd really just like to stick with the plan! So please cooperate and spare the roads from heavy ice or atleast snow on top of it so we don't have to drive on ice in the morning.
Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Panic is setting in

As my nesting phase begins my level of panic is increasing! Lately I've been cleaning out closets, reorganizing our filing cabinets, preparing Jackson's old clothing for the Just Between Friends Sale, and getting ready to redecorate the nursery....all amidst my normal weekly chores and responsibilities. Unfortunately I'm at the point where everything looks like a disaster! I haven't gotten to the point where I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know I'll get there, I'm just not there yet! If I remember correctly, when I was doing this "nesting phase" while pregnant with Jackson I felt much more under control and not really paniced. I realize that now that I have to care for Jackson at the same time as I accomplish my projects that things are going to be a little bit more chaotic. But I also think I'm realizing that with baby #2, I have a much healthier sense of what I'm getting into...time commitment wise, nursing, lack of sleep, etc. all whilst chasing a 3 yr old. So here's for hoping that she's a laid back baby!!!

A fun Jackson quote for the day "Mommy, we're best friends like Thomas and Percy" (refering to THomas the train and his sidekick Percy). It was SO stinkin' cute!!!
Goodnight all!

Manic Monday

Yesterday was a busy day! We began the day with a trip to the Audiologist and ENT. Jackson had tubes put in October of '08 due to multiple ear infections, so we were supposed to return for a one year check-up...obviously the 1 year recheck turned into a 15 month recheck, oh well, atleast we made it at all!
So we saw the Audiologist first, **nervous that Jackson was going to have a melt down about having things put in his ears and having to sit in a sound proof booth etc.** but he did great. He even let her put some ear buds in to do some sound field testing. As a Speech pathologist I'm well versed in what hearing issues/loss can do to a child's speech, so I was anxious to get the results of his hearing test. All in all he did ok, but his hearing isn't where the audiologist would like it to be.
Next we headed into the ENT and he told us that Jackson's first set of tubes had fallen out and were just laying in the ear canal, which in and of itself wasn't a problem. THe problem is that he continues to have fluid behind his middle ear...which shouldn't be there. It should be draining. So basically it sounds like everything is muffled to Jackson...I compare it to what it sounds like if you were sitting on the bottome of a pool and someone was talking to you....yeah, not so good when you're trying to learn phonics and correct production of speech sounds. So we've decided to put a 2nd set of tubes in his ears next week and remove his adenoids while we're at it. We have the option to "wait him out" and see if as he gets bigger this will resolve itself or just put the new tubes in. But since the ENT called him a "repeat offender" (which I love...because he is a repeat offender in many ways outside of ear infections!! but aren't most toddlers??? LOL) we decided why wait!
So after the wild morning we had it was nice to spend the afternoon playing outside at the park and riding the new bicycle Jackson got for Christmas. The weather was AMAZING!! For those of you who live in or around the Tulsa area, I hope you were able to get out and get some sunshine!!!

"renovation" has become a dirty word at my house!

A master shower renovation has been underway at my house since October, with seemingly no end in sight. Jeremy has been the main workman on the project along with a friend of ours that has tons of experience in home reno projects. Anyhow, we're about sick of it eating up our free time. As usual, every step in this project has taken 5 times as long as we had planned for...and let me tell you Jackson is a GREAT help!!!*sigh* We're lucky to get to work on it a few hours each Sunday and Monday due to work and various other responsibilities. And for those of you who think we're nuts for taking on this project ourselves...we got a few different quotes to have the work done for us all ranging in the $4000-6000 range. Woah buddy! No way was I spending that much money! We originally had a bathtub/shower with sliding glass doors and we wanted to pull all of that out and put in just a stand up shower with glass doors. But let me tell you, as we started pulling out the tile and dry wall, that quote would have gone up exponentially due to the water damage that was hidden behind the walls!!!

So as you can see there was tons of mold and general water damage. We had to replace EVERYTHING...down to the sidding on the outside of the house that shared the exterior shower wall! So with new siding, new plywood, new 2X4's, new floor, plumbing ect. we are finally approaching the phase where we get to see some walls go back up. It's been a long journey and I don't recommend it for the faint of heart or faint marriages! I'm sure it will be great when it's done....but man am I ready to be using our shower again!

I hope everyone had a good weekend....whether you were renovating or relaxing!!!

my moment....

"This is my moment...this is my miracle" (quoting the movie 9 months). So those of you who know me well, know that I am a planner by nature. I LOVE TO PLAN!! I know, a fair amount of life can be missed while planning, but nontheless, I love to plan, make lists, get organized, etc. So Jeremy and I have been discussing how we (mostly me) would like for the birthday of baby girl to go. Granted, we have like 3 months before B-day, but did I mention that I like to plan ahead?!?! Anywho, I will have a repeat c-section on March 31st early am. And I have decided that there are definate cons to having a scheduled delivery of any kind. One being that if you would like any quiet time it's harder to do as a repeat c-section, I mean the line "I'm not sure when we're delivering" is only going to fly for so long! So when we had Jackson it was really all about Jeremy and I. Both our parents were there, my brother and sister-in-law, my grandmother, and 2 of my aunts. That's a room full of people! And while I love my extended family, everyone got to hold him and touch him and look into his beautiful blue eyes 30 minutes to an hour before I did. And yes, I know that's a selfish thing to say, I have subsequently gotten to hold him everyday since...but I think my mommy friends will understand. There is something about carrying a baby for 9 months and all of a sudden being separated from that baby that is difficult. So, while this wasn't a huge deal when we had Jackson it has become a bigger deal to me with baby #2, mainly for when it comes to Jackson. Now that we have Jackson I feel a responsibility to introducing Jackson to his baby sister and us getting some quiet time together as "our" little family before the masses come visit. We know that this is going to completely change our lives, but more so Jacksons and we would like to try and start off on the right foot. We are planning on jackson still going to school on the day the baby gets here, after she's born of course. We really just want to keep his schedule as normal as possible. The planner in my has thought about it a bunch and whilst my plan probably isn't perfect....it's my plan. And if there was ever a time where people should respect (I didn't necessarily say "like") my plan it should be on the day I give birth! Right?!?!
So I'm having the above conversation with my mom...whom I love dearly...and I'm trying to nicely ask that she tell my extended family to wait to visit until later in the morning after the baby gets here and Jeremy and I have had some time to spend with her and Jackson. And my mom looks at me like I'm 12, and in that "mother knows best" tone of voice tells me to consider everyone elses feelings about that and how that would make them feel. Seriously?!?! Are you kidding me?!?! I know she meant well, but I seriously felt like for just a moment that I was 12 and telling her that I wasn't going to invite certain people to my birthday party or something...and I was being told to not be rude!! I quickly snapped out of it of course and remembered that I was almost 30, have been married for almost 6 years, and am having my 2nd child....I can voice my opinion! And since this is "my moment" I hope that my family can respect my wishes to wait until 10 am that morning to come visit me...I don't think that's too much to ask!
So enough venting about that! In other news I don't think I've shared the name of this baby girl. We've decided...after much debate...that we're going to name her Campbell Rose. Campbell is my maiden name and Roselle is my grandmother's name...so an all around family name. Jackson was named after Jeremy's family, so we decided to share the wealth with my family. I can not tell you how hard it was to decide on her name....shesh!!! Jackson was a sinch to name in comparison. We had a list 15-20 names long....from the girliest and feminine names like Sophia, Charlotte, Sabrina, to the strong and sturdy Alexandria. But in the end none of the other names meant more to me then Campbell.
So to all the mom's out there....why did you pick the name you picked for your kid/kiddos? And do you remember the other names that you were considering? I myself saved the name lists to put in baby books!

I think it's a sixth sense

So why is it my toddler can sense when we have somewhere to be in the afternoon after his nap....therefor deciding to mess with his naptime and dilly dally for an hour and a half in bed prior to falling asleep for his hour and a half nap??? OMG...it's not often we have someplace to be after naptime, for this very reason. But today I had arranged a playdate with some friends and their kiddos post naptime, ballparking that he'd be up by 2 (he usually goes down around 12 ish). So we did lunch and our normal naptime routine and he was in bed by a few minutes after 12. The child didn't go to sleep until 1:40....after numerous requests for his fan on/off, needing me to cover him up, needing a diaper change etc. UUUGGHHH!!! I hadn't even told him we were going anywhere after naptime, as I have figured out that doing that is a death sentence to any plans that I may have made for us! Anyhow, he finally went to sleep and we were still able to make our playdate just fine. I mean afterall, it was just a playdate, very flexible....thanks goodness it wasn't a Dr.'s appt or something!!!
So is it just my child...or does anyone else's kids have this sixth sense??
Have a good Wednesday!!!

A little winter vacation getaway....

Happy 2010 to everyone!!! I hope you all had a great New Year's holiday. Jeremy and I were able to take a little winter vacation getaway to the Grand Lake area for a few days. My parents have a condo up there, which they were wonderful to let us use...but even more wonderful, they were willing/brave enough to keep Jackson and our dog Tanner for 3 days/2 nights! I must say, as much as I love my son, I love having some time for just Jeremy and I....which is one of my resolution/goals for the year. We were able to sleep in, if you call sleeping uninterrupted till between 8-9am sleeping in, which I do! We watched movies and did some reading and internet surfing in front of the fire....it was great! When we got to the condo there was still a few inches of snow on the ground, but we woke up to 4-6 inches more this morning when we went to leave. It's a darn good thing we brought a snow shovel. And it's also a darn good thing I got a new all-wheel drive car last week...which has now seen 2 different snow falls and I haven't even had it a full week yet!

In the second picture you can just barely see my car...it's a blue subaru outback...and I llloooovvveee it!

So several of my blogging friends have made new year's resolution posts, and to be perfectly honest, I've never been a huge resolution person. I think I am more of a detail oriented person, so when I set goals I set them on a smaller scale and I set more of them. Jeremy, on the other hand, is a big picture person. So he does much better at setting yearly goals. So to keep with new year's traditions here are some of my up and coming goals (let's say 3-6 months worth):
1) Finish my current home renovation projects before baby #2 gets here. This goal somewhat feeds into my current nesting needs...that and I know there won't be much time/energy for home projects for a while after March. Project A-finish redoing our master bathroom shower. We're in the rebuilding phase so we're getting there. This is a whole post to itself. I'll get before, during, and God-willing after pictures up soon. Project B- redoing the nursery. This too I'll go into further detail at a later date, but basically it's very boy right now and I'm going to change it to very girlie.
2) Work on more appropriately dividing my time between wife, mom, and professional duties. I will say that 2009 was an eye opening year on this subject. If I had to assign a percentage of my time to various categories, as I spent it in 2009, it would be as follows: mommy duties 60%, household duties 20%, professional duties 10%, wifely duties 9%, self-preservation duties (i.e. reading a book, getting a pedicure, dinner with friends, etc.) 1%. I'll be the first to admitt that this needs some real work....so I'll be interested to see what percents I give these categories a year from now!
3) Better my financial planning. With a second baby on the way where and how I spend my money is going to have to improve. I'm definately more of a saver then Jeremy is...so hopefully I can continue this trend.
4) Get in better shape. This is going to be a hard goal to work on for the next several months, for obvious reasons. But after the baby gets here and I'm cleared by my Dr. I HAVE GOT TO GET MOVING! This goal goes somewhat hand in hand with goal #2 under the self-preservation category. I think I will feel better and I think I need the time (both mentally and physically) that getting some exercise will provide. That and I've been eating like crazy with this pregnancy!!
5) Professional continuity. So this has been coming and going off of my goals list for 3 years now. I've been a part time speech pathologist and part time figure skating coach for several years now. And while I've enjoyed my work schedule and this has afforded me the ability to stay home with Jackson 2 days per week....it's also been very complicated. Meaning, I don't have 1 day of the week that looks the same, schedule-wise, every day is different. And when it was just Jeremy and I this worked just fine. But this doesn't work so well for my very schedule-oriented toddler. So, I'm not sure of the solution at this point, but I'm working on it.

So those 5 goals should be more then enough to keep me busy for the next 3-6 months, if not for the entire next year, especially with baby #2 joining the scene soon!
